She was born to Walter Schroeder and Elizabeth Kirschling on October 15, 1941, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Carol put her Master’s in education to work first as a teacher, and then as a consultant for an education publishing company. She retired in 2008 living in North Wales, Pennsylvania, before moving in 2018 to the sunnier and warmer climate in Estero, Florida.
She was a voracious reader, who loved attending concerts, theater events, museums, traveling the world, and watching classic movies with her beloved husband, Arthur, of 60 years. They were known in their neighborhood for taking daily evening walks. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; her son Jay; and daughter Lynn (Greg). She was preceded in death by her son Paul. She has four grandchildren: Jack and Sydney (Paul) and Soren and Blake (Lynn).
A private family memorial was held, and she will be buried in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
