Will Christopher Luckett, 21, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away tragically on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from a motorcycle accident. In his 21 years, Will touched more lives than most do in a lifetime, and his memory will live on in all who knew him.
Born February 27, 2004, in Newburgh, Indiana, Will was the son of David and Cristal Luckett. He grew up with an adventurous spirit, a heart full of love, and a passion for living life on his own terms. Whether he was working on his Jeep, scuba diving, fishing, or enjoying the outdoors, Will was always ready for his next adventure. He had a way of making everything feel exciting and real.
Will wasn’t just a son, brother, or friend—he was a person who made you feel seen and understood. His laugh was contagious, and his kindness ran deep. Will had a gift for making people feel special, whether through his quiet support or by showing up when you needed him most.
He wasn’t reckless—he was free. He lived each day with the kind of wild joy that makes life feel fuller, and though his time was cut short, he packed more into it than most ever will. Will lived for the big moments, the ones that shaped you, the ones you’d never forget. He had his own moral compass, and anyone who knew him would agree that Will always knew what mattered most.
Will worked with McShea Contracting in Lehigh Acres, where his work ethic and strong character earned him the respect of everyone around him. Growing up, he played travel hockey and football, sports that taught him teamwork, grit, and determination—qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
He is survived by his parents, David and Cristal Luckett; his brother, Luke Luckett; his grandparents, Dr. David W. Luckett, and Gerald and Linda Meadows; his aunts and uncles, Natalie and Tommy Massa, Steven and Jennifer Luckett, and Susan and Joel Bales; cousins, Cole, Jack, Matthew, Nicholas, and Cameron; and many other family members, special people, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kay Luckett.
As one poem that captures Will’s spirit says:
He didn’t get years—
but he got moments. Big ones. Real ones. The kind that carve stories into the people who knew him.
Some lives are long. Some are loud. He was the kind you don’t forget—
and wouldn’t want to.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10th, at Bellview Baptist Church,
4875 Old Mayfield Rd, Paducah, KY 42003, at 1:00 PM (visitation from 12:00 PM).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1st, at Ft. Myers Beach, beginning at 5:00 PM, until sunset.
Will’s love, laughter, and the way he made everything feel special will be missed every day. He will always be remembered with love, and his memory will forever be a part of those he left behind.
He didn’t walk, he moved—
like the world was something to ride, not just pass through.
Engine humming, heart wide open,
he chased horizons the rest of us only talked about.
Not reckless—just free.
Wild in the way the wind is wild,
with a soul that somehow still made space for kindness,
for looking you in the eye and meaning it.
He didn’t get years—but he got moments.
Big ones. Real ones.
The kind that carve stories into the people who knew him.
Some lives are long. Some are loud.
He was the kind you don’t forget—
and wouldn’t want to.
