

Billy Harold Maddox, 79, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He had worked at Brown Shoe Company until they closed and then with the Booneville City Park. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea and a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard for 40 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and was an avid Alabama football fan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Brown and Minister Greg Pollock officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leista Moreland Maddox of Booneville; two brothers, Bobby (Patrilla) Maddox of Booneville and Larry Maddox of Baldwyn; two sisters, Wilma Underwood of Saltillo and Barbara Hughes of Nesbit; nephew, Jason (Amy) Parton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; sister-in-law, Hazel Pharr of Greenville, SC; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Shirley) Moreland of Marietta; host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Clara Cook Maddox; brother, Robert Eugene “Snook” Maddox; sister, Gretta Faye Hood; brother-in-law, Clyde Moreland; two nieces, Shelia Alred and Carolyn Pharr.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home, 702 W. College Street, Booneville, MS 38829, (662) 728-9441.
