Brenda Joyce Jacobs, 71, passed directly from the loving arms of her daughter and husband into Jesus loving arms Monday, April 9, 2018, at Florence Nursing and Rehab in Florence, AL. She was born May 6, 1946, to Bardie and Ethel Nichols Cole. She was a 1964 graduate of Booneville High School. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, flowers, and sewing. She was a cherished wife, mother, friend, and sister-in-law. She was devoted to helping others.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at McMillan Funeral Home with Rev. David English officiating.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Vietnam Veteran, J.W. Jacobs; one daughter, Kristi (Edward) McDonald; a daughter, adopted by heart, Tonya (Eddie) Moreland; an adopted granddaughter by heart, Allie Moreland; three sisters-in-law, Darlene Barron, Jolene (Beaver) Taylor and Kay Warford; four brothers, in-law, Charles (Mary) Jacobs, Jim (Janie) Jacobs, Gerald (Joan) Jacobs and Rick Carpenter; two special friends, Hilda McDougal and Leah McDougal; and a dear friend of the family, Justin Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Carpenter, who died serving his country in Vietnam; two infant children; her parents; and three brothers-in-law, Junior Jacobs, Danny Joe Barron and Terry Warford.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Florence Rehab for all of their love and support.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Booneville Country Club and Tiger Den Coffee Club.
Visitation will Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
