

David Harold Prichard, 92, died Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Booneville. He was born to Daniel Lafayette Prichard and Mary DeHart Baker Prichard on February 20, 1922 in Hazard, Kentucky. He graduated from Booneville High School and Mississippi State University. He was a lifetime member of Booneville First Baptist Church and was on the list of inactive deacons.
He served as National President of the FFA Organization (1940-41) and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He owned and operated Prichard Farm Supply from 1956-99. He was a breeder of registered Polled Hereford cattle and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Northeast Mississippi Polled Hereford Association from 1970 to 1990.
He served as chairman of the board of trustees of Northeast Mississippi Hospital (1962-81). He served as president of the Mississippi Association of Hospital Governing Boards from 1976 to 1978. He also served as the chairman of the board of directors of the Tupelo Federal Land Bank Association.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2015 with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating and Marshall Dickerson delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Anne Thomason Prichard; four daughters, Mary Clyde Prichard of Birmingham, Alabama, Annabel Lambert of Tishomingo, Susan Cartwright and Danielle (Hal) Willcoxon of Booneville; one son, David L. Prichard (Caren) of Chipley, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Shai Prichard of Sherman Oaks, California, Daniel (Wendy) Spain of Birmingham, Alabama, Emily (James) Faucher of Greensboro, North Carolina, Amanda Spain of Hartselle, Alabama, Molly (Jason) Heathcock of Birmingham, Alabama, Chrissie (Chris) Vandevere of Houston, Texas, Sally Cartwright of Greensboro, North Carolina, Cassie (Josh) Riley of Chipley, Florida, Jared Prichard of Spring, Texas, Caitlyn Prichard of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Mary Beth Willcoxon of Booneville; eight great grandchildren, Julia Anne, Travis and Mae Heathcock, Mary Katherine, Audrey and Madeline Faucher, Sarah Jane and Abigail Riley; and one brother, R. B. Prichard, of Booneville.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Spain, Jared Prichard, James Faucher, Jason Heathcock, Chris Vandevere, and Josh Riley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 401 W Church St, Booneville, MS 38829 or to the National FFA Foundation, PO Box 68960, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Prichard will lie-in-state one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church.
