Kathleen Deaton Moore

Kathleen Deaton Moore, 73, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born November 26, 1937, to Leland and Gertrude McCombs Deaton. She was a 1956 graduate of Thrasher High School, where she was valedictorian. She married James Junior Moore, and they lived in Winthrop Harbor, IL before returning to Mississippi in 1973. She was a member of Thrasher Baptist Church, WMU, and the Pisgah Homemakers Club. She was a secretary for Abbott Labs and later worked for Iuka Guaranty Bank. She enjoyed gardening and yard work.

She was a loving wife and mother. Being a caring and giving person, she was treasured by family and friends. Faith and family were of the most importance to her.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

She is survived her daughter, Kathy (James) Hutchison of Wintrop Harbor, IL; two stepdaughters, Jeanne (Joe) Morgan of Northport, FL and Barbara Meagher of Sarasota, FL; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Moore of Kenosha, IL; two sisters, Alice (Freddie) Bullock of Thrasher and Evelyn Gately of Hernando; one brother, Thomas (Charlotte) Deaton of Thrasher; six grandchildren, Jason (Tanya) Hutchison, Todd (Courtney) Hutchison, Jamie Peterson, Brooke (Kenny) Williams, Chelsea Meagher and James Michael Moore; eight great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews, Sherry (Steve) Stanfill, Bobby (Rhonda) Deaton, Tony Bullock, Allen Bullock, Michael Bullock and Josh Deaton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Michael James Moore; and her parents.

Pallbearers are Jason Hutchison, Todd Hutchison, Tony Bullock, Allen Bullock, Bobby Deaton and Steve Stanfill.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
