

Mary Beth Tidwell, 94, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born August 6, 1917 to Manuel Commander and Viola Street Carmichael. Mrs. Tidwell professed her faith in the Lord at age 11 and was baptized into the fellowship of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Tippah County. Later she became a member of Crestwood Baptist Church in Booneville. One of the greatest privileges’ of Mrs. Tidwell’s life was serving as the first female Supervisor of the 1st District of Prentiss County, filling the unexpired term of her late husband, Bobby Tidwell in 1970.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Wallace, Steve Wildsmith and Mike Wildsmith officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Dobbins of Booneville and Charlotte (Robert) Wildsmith of Knoxville, TN; three grandsons, Steve (Tessa) Wildsmith, Mike (Beth) Wildsmith and Robert Scott Fowler; one great-grandson, Ezra Wildsmith; three step-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan and Josh Voyles; and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Arianna Stratton.
She is preceded in death by her husband; one son, Robert James Tidwell; her parents; one sister, Mildred Jeanette Carmichael; four brothers, John A., Paul Stanley, Olive Gray and Eugene Carmichael; and one granddaughter, Dawn Michelle Wildsmith.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home.
