Tommy Travis Palmer

Tommy Travis Palmer, 80, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. Tommy was born April 24, 1934 to Travis Palmer and Martha Kathryn McMillan. He graduated from Booneville High School in 1952 and attended North East Mississippi Community College. He married Ruemell Deaton Palmer October 30, 1952. He was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and taught the Ladies Bible class for many years. He traveled for American Seating Company and then he was Director of MAP Inc. His hobby was restoring old cars.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Greg Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruemell Palmer of Booneville, two daughters, Pam (Paul) Morris of Iuka and Pat (Ricky) Green of Booneville; two grandsons, Jon-Palmer Green and Paul Daniel Morris; two granddaughters, Amelia (Guy) Gardner and Meredith Green; two great granddaughters, Claire Thomas Gardner and Lottie Brooks Gardner; three brothers, Jerry (Sue) Palmer of Conway, AR, Kendrick (Faye) Palmer of Corinth and Marion Palmer of West Monroe, LA.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Paul Morris, Jon-Palmer Green, Guy Gardner, Eddie Mauney, Tommy Baragona and Billy Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Green, Paul Daniel Morris.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2014, and continue until service time at McMillan Funeral Home.
