He was born to Emily Denizé (Elliott) and Clement Denizé Sr., January 11th 1950 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Clement graduated from Bourne High School in 1967 and matriculated for two years at UMass, Boston where he studied American and European history. He was raised in Sagamore Beach and relocated in 2009 to Sandwich, Massachusetts.
He was a world traveler who, after college, backpacked though North America, and several countries in Europe (Germany; Holland; England; the Netherlands; Greece, and Spain); he also trekked through South America (Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, and Guatemala). As an avid reader at one time, he was passionate about books, especially fantasy and speculative fiction. Another passion—technology—motivated him to take classes in technology at Cape Cod Community College even after suffering a stroke. Although a member of the Christian faith, Clement believed in the unity of mankind, the oneness of God, and the oneness of all religions, and he often attended and hosted devotional services of the Baha'i Faith.
Clement was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Two years ago, he attended a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and the Red Sox acknowledged his presence with the following greeting on the big screen: "The Red Sox welcome Clement Denize," and he went home with some great team gear.
Clement is survived by two sisters: Donna Denizé of Washington, D.C. and Marie Francois Theodore of Los Angeles, California. He is survived by his Aunts Jeanne Moore, Constance Coleman, and Marjorie Elliott, all of Sagamore Beach; cousins Karen Young, Clifford Moore, Jr. and Theodore Moore, and numerous first, second and third cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service with prayers, readings and a few reflections at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. Interment to follow at Oakland Grove Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be announced this summer with family and friends.
