Elizabeth Frances O'Neil

Pocasset - Elizabeth F. (Corcoran) O’Neil, died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Elizabeth was born in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy. A resident of Pocasset for 38 years, she volunteered for the Town of Bourne as an election worker and attended Mass at Saint John’s in Pocasset. During World War II, she worked for the draft board in Boston and later worked as Head Cashier for Paine Furniture both in Quincy and the Boston Stores.

She is predeceased by her husband Timothy James O’Neil and her brother Francis Augustine Corcoran. She is the loving mother of Charles and Keely O’Neil (Nana’s best friend) of Wareham, Ginny O’Neil of Monument Beach, Francis A. O’Neil of Pocasset, Barbara A. Newell of Monument Beach, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:00 am.
