

She was born Feroula Zinzopoulos on January 20, 1929 just outside Salonica, Greece, the daughter of Arestedas and Maricka (Segalos) Zinzopoulos. As a young girl she competed in swimming for Greece at the Olympic trials in the mid 1940’s, earning her awards and honors.
Feroula came to the U.S. in 1956. She was educated in Greece and El Paso, Texas, and later worked as a gemologist in Boston with her brothers.
On June 17, 1955, Feroula was united in marriage to Eugene Loyal Kelley in Athens, Geeece. To this union four children were born, Athena V., Konstantine W., Eugene E., and John E.
She and Eugene were longtime members of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Centerville. Feroula worked as a volunteer for Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, and John Kerry. She was a proud member of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. She was also an avid seamstress.
Feroula is preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Eugene, of their home in Onset. Her children; Konstantine W. Kelley of Wareham, Eugene E. Kelley of Marion, John E. Kelley of Wareham, and Athena V. Kelley of Onset. She is also survived by a brother George Zinzopoulas of Greece, and sister Toula Apostolopoulos of Danvers, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may share respects with the family at a visitation on Sunday February 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 o’clock PM, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 02532.
Funeral services will be Monday February 9 at 11:00 o’clock AM at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church on Rte. 28 in Centerville. Father Peter Giannakopoulas, presiding. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
A memorial fund is being established in her memory to Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod, 712 Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
