Jean M. Coye of Bourne passed away on Tuesday, February 11th peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband Edmund of 60 years. Cherished mother of David and his wife Donna of Bourne, Stephen and his wife Kelly of Newton and Bourne, Kevin and his wife Alexa of Plymouth. Sister of Richard Roper and predeceased by her brother Joseph Roper. Grandmother of Alison, Brandon, Lucas, and Eviana. Jean graduated from Catherine Laboure School of nursing in 1961 and Boston College in 1965 where she was a member of the Mater Spei and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Societies. She retired from Upper Cape Regional Technical School as a teacher for 25 years in the Health Careers Program. Jean enjoyed time spent with her family, boating, swimming, walking, book club, and winters in Marco Island, Florida. She was a Eucharistic Minister of St. John's Church.
Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday February 19th from 8:30-9:30 am at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, St. John of the Evangelist Parish, 841 Shore Rd. Pocasset, MA. Burial will follow at South Monument Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bourne Food Pantry.
