John Alfred Sanford

John ‘Jack’ A. Sanford, 87, passed away on March 5, 2016 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. Born on 10/26/1928, Jack was a lifelong resident of Bourne, Massachusetts. He loved his family, the Red Sox, storytelling and playing baseball. In 2005, he was inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame.

He is preceded in death by his mother Genevieve; his four brothers Edward, William, Robert and Phillip; his sister Margaret; and his son Scott.

Jack is survived by his sister Martha Wenzel and her husband Tom, of Bourne. His daughters, Kirsten Sanford and her fiancé Steven Spillane of Rockland; Kerri Kalkanis and her husband Fotios and Casey Dollfuss and her husband Jeff, all of Bourne. He was the proud grandfather of Jacob Ferro, Mikhalis Kalkanis, Jayden and Cody Tellier, Jack Spillane and Liam Dollfuss.

Jack also leaves his longtime friends, Carla Keller and Patricia Sanford; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes loved ones and friends to celebrate his life at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA 02532 on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 5pm – 8pm.

On Friday, March 11, 2016 there will be a prayer service at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home at 11:30 am.
