Kathleen Veronica Donovan

Kathleen was born on April 8, 1939, the daughter of James F. and Helen G (Drummy) Donovan in Somerville, MA.

She has been a resident of Monument Beach for the past twenty-five years, coming from Somerville and then Medford, MA. She worked as a supervisor for freight claims for the Filenes Department Store in Boston and Somerville.

In her younger years she enjoyed all of the Boston professional sports teams. She was very active in the Council on Aging, and all of their activities. She also enjoyed being involved in local politics.

Kathleen is also preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Robert Harrington, Kenneth Harrington, George Donovan, William Donovan, Richard Donovan, Edward Donovan, Dorothy Cote, and Frances Carver. She is also preceded by one nephew Joseph Harrington.

Those surviving Kathleen are her nieces; Karen Harrington of Somerville, MA, Patricia Sutton of Reading, PA, and Denise Cote of Wakefield, MA. Nephews; Glenn Harrington and Robert Harrington, both of Somerville, MA, Brian (Claire) Harrington of Billerica, MA, and Arthur Cote. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews and her nephew Joseph’s wife Jacqueline Harrington of Stoneham, MA..

There will be a time of sharing stories and visiting with family members on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, in Bourne, MA.

Cremation was chosen and burial of ashes will be scheduled at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Council on Aging, 258 Main, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532, in Kathleen’s name.

All services have been entrusted to Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 02532.
