"Louie" was born on May 24th, 1956 in Providence, Rhode Island, to his parents, Albert and Lucy Aurelio. He was a son to be proud of. He graduated from North Providence High School in 1975 and found his calling in the Air Force soon thereafter. While serving the country he loved he traveled the world, from Duluth Air Force Base in Minnesota, to Clark Air Force Base in The Philippines, to Fort Yukon in Alaska. At Fort Yukon he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant, before receiving and honorable discharge so he could focus on family. He would often reminisce about his times in the Air Force as some of the best days of his life.
It was in the Philippines that he met the love of his life, his wife Ester. They married in the Philippines in 1980 before returning to the United States. While stationed in Alaska, Louie decided to build a home on Cape Cod, which his growing family moved into in 1984. He loved Ester with all of his heart, often proclaiming that he had married his best friend, advice he would pass on to many future generations. It would be hard to find two people who loved each other more.
It was here on Cape Cod where he cemented his legacy as the greatest dad on earth. He was a caring and devoted father who always made time for his three children. He would teach you lessons without knowing you were being schooled. He would always steer you in the right direction. He was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help anyone in need. His boisterous sense of humor coupled with his overall good nature made him very popular amongst his children's friends, who were always happy to hang out with him. He'd drive you anywhere you wanted to go at any time of the day. He'd drive you around in circles if you wanted to keep each other company. He was a moral compass that everyone should follow. He was a dad many kids wished they had.
Always eager to cheer on his beloved Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics, Lou could always be seen rocking his favorite team's gear. He'd also be quick to tell you why they were winning, why they were losing, or what moves they needed to make to turn things around. He was fortunate to have seen all of his teams win championships, and he was happy to celebrate it. Always a fan of fundamentals, Lou was always happy to run layup drills, season a baseball glove, or hit pop-ups and ground balls to his kids. When they decided to trade in the field for the stage, he was their biggest fan. When they decided to sing, he would belt out a tune right along with them. When they fell, he would pick them right back up. He would support you any way he could.
HE LOVED EVERYONE HE MET, AND EVERYONE HE MET LOVED HIM.
Mr. Aurelio is survived by his wife, Ester; his son, Jonathan; his daughters Michelle and Samantha; his parents, Albert and Lucy Aurelio of Providence, Rhode Island; his sister, Carol; his brother, Richard; and his loving dog, Scottie.
