Mary Jean (Chauvin) Cimino, 88, of Pocasset, MA, died on November 16, 2025, at Royal Falmouth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Falmouth, MA. Born in Webster, MA, on December 11, 1936, she lived in Milford, MA, and Whitinsville, MA, before settling in Pocasset, where she lived for 40 years. She was loyally and lovingly married to Anthony J. Cimino, of Milford, MA, for 62 years. He predeceased her in 2022.
Jean (as she preferred to be called) was a public school teacher for many years and, before her retirement, was administrative assistant to the principal of St. Margaret’s School in Bourne. She loved meeting new people, reading, swimming in the ocean, walking on Cape Cod’s many nature trails, traveling to Italy, flower gardening, and cross-stitching. Food was her love language; she was an excellent cook and kept her family and friends well fed at all times.
Jean was the daughter of Mae (Dwyer) Chauvin of Webster and Oswald Chauvin of Dudley, MA, and the stepdaughter of Ann (Bukowski) Chauvin. She is survived by three children: Andrew Cimino of West Springfield, MA; Gerald Cimino of Hyannis, MA; and Valerie Cimino of Westport, CT. She is also survived by four grandchildren, who are Zachary Cox of Boston, MA; Jacob Cox of Burlington, MA; Emily Cimino of Phoenix, AZ; and Kathleen Cimino of Albany, NY; and two great-grandchildren, Calum Cox and Cora Cox. Her older brother, Paul Chauvin, predeceased her. She is also survived by stepsiblings Dianne Pierce, Kenneth Chauvin, Bruce Chauvin, and Pamela Chauvin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home and will be private.
