Nina F. Bernardo

Nina F. (Bille) Bernardo, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Falmouth Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Bernardo.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Leo and Santa (Ionadi) Bille. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Lee, son David R. Gardner Jr and daughter Sandy Pelletier
Nina is survived by her immediate family which includes Susan (Gardner) Pleau husband, David , Karen Gardner, Leanne (Gardner) Braman, her partner Tom, Donna Orphan, husband Mike, Robert Bernardo wife Lori, and Steven Bernardo. Grandchildren, Gina Tamagini, Krystell Pleau, Adam Gardner, Daniel Gardner, Christopher Gardner, and great granddaughter Nina Hatfield.
She loved her extended family which includes many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her caring gestures and bright smile led to her having many friends and acquaintances. Nina worked as a nurses aide for a number of years then as a teacher's aide for the Bourne School District. She loved working with the children and made many friends with her co-workers.
She liked to read, go for sightseeing car rides, and spend time with family and friends. Nina was strong willed, proud, compassionate, thoughtful, generous, and wise. Her love for tradition, family, and cooking led to her recipes being handed down to the next generation. Nina was an inspiration to everyone with her courage, strength, and love.
She will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Margaret's Church 141 Main Street Buzzards Bay, MA. Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
