Sharon was born and raised in Taunton, MA. She attended Weir Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961. Sharon married Leo Caldeira, "the boy next door," in 1963 at Sacred Heart Church. Together, they raised three boys and were long-time parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Taunton. Sharon worked as a coordinator at the Taunton Visiting Nurse Association for almost thirty years, where she made life-long friends.
Sharon was proud of her Irish heritage and her Catholic faith. She enjoyed yoga, travel, flowers and gardening, puzzle-making, frugal shopping, praying the Rosary and attending Mass, and getting things done. Most of all, though, she loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Sharon was the matriarch of the Caldeira Clan; it is difficult to imagine the planets revolving without their sun.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Florence (Burgess) Brady of Taunton and Norton; her brother James Brady of Manomet, her brother Robert Brady of Lakeville and her sister Maureen Marques of Wareham.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lionel ('Leo") Caldeira of Pocasset; her son Mark Caldeira of Brooklyn, NY (and his wife, Jianying Huang, and their children, Solina and Breacen Caldeira); her son John Caldeira of Sandwich (and his wife, Nancy [Blake] Caldeira, and their sons, Thomas, Brenden, Bryan and Tyler Caldeira); her son Matthew Caldeira of Brookline; her sister Carol Whalen of Blairsville, GA (and her children, Tara White, and Sean and Robert Whalen); and many nieces and nephews:
Brenda Amburgey, Melissa Mahoney, Pamela White, James Brady, Sean Brady, Kevin Brady; Karleen Masse, Emmett Brady, Jeannine Hasson, Deidre Morelli, Scott Brady, Paul Brady (deceased), Kelly Rego; Roger Bombardier, Dawn Mosman, Joseph Bombardier; Ann Frias, Lori Fyfe, Lisa Cahill, Joseph Gouveia (deceased), Elizabeth Miner; Nancy Roney, Gail Caldeira; and many other family members and friends.
Services will be held on Monday, October 16th: 10:00 AM at St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 841 Shore Rd, Pocasset; 11:30 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Otis ANGB, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA 02532; 12:00 PM reception at Bucatino Restaurant, 7 Nathan Ellis Hwy, North Falmouth.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Sharon, please commit daily acts of kindness the way Christ would.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nickersonbourne.com for the Caldeira family.
