
Born in Ayer, Massachusetts, he enlisted in the Army at the outbreak of WW2 and served in the Army for 20 years, initially as an enlisted man and later as a Chief Warrant Officer. He followed his army career as a federal employee at the National Security Agency. During his army career he received numerous commendations and was interred at Cheltenham Military Cemetery, with military honors, on October 15 along side his wife Elizabeth Lennox Jenkins, of the British Royal Air Force,whom he met and married in 1945.
After the passing of Elizabeth, Edward married Georgina Koval.
He was a founding member of the Anne Arundel Scottish Games and organized the bagpipe and drumming competitions. He was member of the Robert Burns Society of Annapolics, Maryland.
Edward is survived by Georgina and his son David. He is also survived by grandchildren Jason Strudwick, Andrew Jenkins, Aerin Jenkins and Alexander Jenkins.
A committal service will be held at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Cheltenham on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
