Mark was born on April 23, 1976 while living in the Severna Park community of Riverdale Forest until moving to Shipley’s Choice in second grade. As a child, he had a bubbly, happy personality with an infectious laugh. He started his own lawn service in the community, and his customers loved him.
Mark played a variety of sports at the youth level and moved on to play baseball at Severna Park High. He attended the University of Maryland, graduating summa cum laude in 1998 with a business/finance degree. He went back to UM and received his Masters at the Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2006.
While serving as a volunteer with his church in several capacities and assisting a psychiatrist by working with children with autism, he tried a variety of jobs before deciding to serve his country with the U.S. Border Patrol and then with Immigration and Customs Enforcement , beginning in 2008. He took an early retirement after some difficult years with ICE in Texas and returned to Maryland to reconnect with his family.
Mark spent the next several years healing, attending bible studies and social groups, serving with a variety of organizations, and watching his niece and nephews’ sport activities in Severna Park and elsewhere. He was very proud of his sister and her family.
He loved spending time with his grand-mother Joan, taking her to Ocean City, karaoke nights, and dinner and enjoyed being with his grand-mother Mikki – doing puzzles, talking about old times, and bringing her lunch.
Mark had a serious but generous nature, a bright smile, and an amazing memory for dates and events.
Mark is survived by his parents Bill and Sherry, grand-mother Joan Parker, sister Kristin Williams, brother-in-law James Williams, nephews Jacob and Landon, and niece Katelyn, as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
His loving family rejoices knowing that he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This will be what they will lean on as they mourn him until they see him again.
The family wants to thank those who have reached out to console them during this difficult time. A memorial service to honor Mark’s life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 4:00pm at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis at 710 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, MD 21041. A reception will follow the memorial service.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts should be sent to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." --Revelation 21:4
