Mary Lou Wurmb, 82, formerly of Davidsonville and Hagerstown, MD., passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Brightview Crofton Riverwalk, Crofton, MD. Born November 3, 1942, in Pittsburg, PA., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Ruth Bennett. She graduated from Anne Arundel Community College in 1987 and became employed with North Arundel Hospital, working for many years as a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Hagerstown, MD to be close to family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Charles Wurmb, III; siblings; Tom Bennett, Joan Bennett Redman, Audrey Bennett Hurst, Robert Bannett, and Lori Bennett; and daughter in law Leigh Ann Wurmb. She is survived by her sons, Drs. Edward Charles Wurmb, IV and wife Jennifer Dolan, of Fairplay, MD., and Steven L. Wurmb and wife, Katherine, of Woodstock, GA.; granddaughters, Shannon Marie Wurmb, of Harrisburg, PA., Megan Elizabeth Wurmb, of Suffolk England, and Abigail Elizabeth Wurmb, of Portland, ME., great-grandsons, Dalton Reid Mitchell, Harper Owen Mitchell, Milo Jude Mitchell, and Oliver Cole Mitchell of Harrisburg, MD, brother Edward Bennett of Sterling, CO., and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Hagerstown, MD. Interment will be private and conducted at the William Penn Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburg, PA., where she and her husband’s ashes will be interred alongside her husband’s parents. Edward C. Wurmb, II., and Evelyn May (Smith) Wurmb.
