Sandra Jo Figgins

Sandra Jo Figgins of Hyattsville, Maryland died suddenly, on Sunday, March 15, 2015, the Lord called Sandra Jo Figgins home. Born June 15, 1954 to John and Nina Jenkins, both deceased. Sandi was the second child of 6. She is also predeceased by her brother John and her sister Cheryl. She was an athletic young person and always full of mischief and fun. An incredibly hard worker, she started her career of 38 years, with the BCTGM, at the age of 17. Working her way up the ladder, she was very proud of being Shop Steward. Sandi enjoyed gardening, movies, Redskin Football, Orioles and Nationals baseball, and darts. Kind and generous, she leaves many lifelong friends. Sandi is survived by her husband David Figgins, stepdaughter, Hannah Figgins, stepson Mark Figgins and grandchildren Leela and Mark. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Carolyn and Bill Heimrich, Gail and Ned Croughan, and David and Vicky Jenkins. Nieces Jennifer, Lauren and Erin. Nephews Joe, John and Tommy and great niece and nephew Amelia and Domenic. Always an animal lover she leaves her precious pups, Bert and Ernie. Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm where a service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Inurnment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
