Of Bowie, MD died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Doctor's Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Peterson and his eldest son Wilfred "Pete" A. Peterson, Jr. He was born February 2, 1922 in Washington D.C. Pete was a WWII veteran who enlisted immediately after Pearl Harbor and served in the Navy in both theaters on several ships as a Corpsman. After WWII he was honorably discharged and had a long career in the carpet business before retiring in 1994.He is survived by his son Charles Peterson Sr. and his daughter-in-law Colleen; his grandchildren Eric Sr., Tammy Smith, Charles Jr, Paul and Michael and his nine great-grandchildren.Viewings will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, Md. on January 25 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. On Monday January 26 there will be a service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bowie, Md. at 11 a.m. Interment at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in MD.
