I am so very sorry for your loss. I’ve spent many a time with Sharyn and her sister Judy, my dear friend. Sharyn was always a delight and easy to talk to. She will be remembered for her sweet personality and dedication to her family.

My sister Sharyn was so many things to me, my big sister, my first friend, a confidant. She was my best decorator. We shared a love for horses. She had such a hysterical way with words . She was great problem solver and always  had my back. she was the best tour guide for Amish day trips, getting cheese at the cheese factory , a bottle of wine and settling our chairs in cow pasture just because.............    she was all this and more. I will miss the many phone calls, sometimes talking for 4 hours. Most of all she was my Best Friend that I could always  call on. I look forward to the day I can see her and many loved ones again.

Mom, you were the standard. Our light. Everything good. The matriarch of an incredible family that you built with love, sacrifice, and strength. You lived 79 beautiful years, and yet it feels like we still needed at least 79 more with you. You were the epitome of what a great mother is—always there, no matter the time, distance, or circumstance. You never missed an event; in fact, you were usually there hours early, always in the front row. I could always count on that.

Joey, Patty, Jason, and I were fortunate to witness firsthand what true parenting looks like. You raised us right, and you welcomed our spouses as if they’d always been part of the family. You were the strongest, most independent person I know, and I will forever be grateful to be called your son.

You lived an incredible life and took such joy in being a mom. But we all know that February 29th, 1996 opened the finest chapter of your life—the day you became a grandmother with the birth of your first grandson, Ryan. Not long after came your first granddaughter, Caleigh, and your heart only grew fuller from there. Then came Emily, Colin, Cameron, DJ, Blake, Julianna, and Brody—each one bringing you immeasurable joy. And still it didn’t stop. You reached yet another milestone becoming a great-grandmother to Leon and Valerie. Incredible.

There was nothing in this world you loved more than your grandchildren—not even a close second. They are all so grateful for the years spent with you, for the memories you helped create, and for the love you poured into every moment.

Mom, you built the foundation. You laid it all out for us. We will live every day striving to meet the expectations you set. Rest easy knowing your four children, their spouses, your grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will remain the close, loving family you always intended us to be. Your legacy will live on in every smile, every laugh, and every family gathering held in your honor.

And we already know—you’ll be there early, waiting

Mom… I don’t even know how to put into words what it feels like to lose you. My heart is shattered, and the silence you leave behind feels impossibly heavy. You were not just my mother—you were my anchor, my comfort, my guide, my constant. Every part of who I am carries pieces of you.

I keep thinking about all the things that made you you—your love for horses, the way Elvis or James Dean could light up your eyes, the fun you had line dancing with your friends, laughing like you didn’t have a care in the world. I think about the trips we took together as a family, the moments you spent with your grandchildren… how much joy you brought them, how proud you were of every single one of them. Those memories are now treasures I will hold onto for the rest of my life.

But what I will miss most, Mom, is simply you. Your voice. Your smile. Your hugs. The way you knew when something was wrong before I said a word. The way you made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and safe. You had a heart that never stopped giving.

You were the center of our family. The one who always showed up, always cared, always loved without conditions. Losing you feels like losing the person who understood me more than anyone ever will again.

I wish I had one more conversation with you… one more chance to hear you laugh… one more moment to say “I love you” and hear you say it back. But I also know you’re at peace now, free from pain, and that gives me the smallest bit of comfort.

Mom, thank you—for the love, the sacrifices, the lessons, the memories, the strength you passed on to us. Thank you for being our home.

I will carry you in my heart every single day for the rest of my life. I will miss you with every breath, and I will love you forever. Until we meet again… please watch over us. I love you, Mom. Always.
