Arlene S. Spohn Salvatore

Arlene S. (Spohn) Salvatore, 91, of West Deptford, NJ formerly of New Berlinville, PA passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury, NJ. She was the widow of Albert D. Salvatore.

Born in Pike Township, Berks County, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Miller) Spohn.

At the age of fourteen she started as a seamstress at the former Bally Pants Factory and retired after 52 years of employment.. Arlene was a member of St. John’s Hill United Church of Christ, Boyertown as well as an active member. She enjoyed bowling and touring the Western United States with her friends. She was also a member of the Kitchen Band at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown.

Arlene is survived by a daughter, Ellen Salvatore wife of Bill Popjoy of Woodbury, NJ; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Annmarie and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. John Hill United Church of Christ, 620 Hill Church Road, Boyertown. The Reverend Hartford C. Inlow will officiate.

A viewing will be 11 – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in Hill Church Cemetery, Pike Township, Berks County, PA.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John Hill United Church of Christ, 620 Church Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.
