Barbara A. Rhoads

Barbara A. (Renninger) Rhoads, age 84, wife of the late Irvin R. Rhoads of Frederick, PA passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022. She was born on June 30, 1937 in Upper Frederick, PA to the late Pearl E. (Hendricks) and Clarence S. Renninger.

Barbara was a life-long member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Obelisk, PA. She loved to play bingo at various social halls, enjoyed working many church suppers, and liked watching gameshows.

Barbara is survived by her children; Roger Rhoads, husband of the late Debi of Frederick, Claudia Swavely, wife of Michael of Barto, Tony Rhoads, husband of Christine of Frederick, Deneen Kratz, wife of Dean of Obelisk, and Darren Rhoads, husband of Sandy of Barto; sister, Ava Mae Mininger, wife of the late Robert of Green Lane; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Brock, Corey, Jennifer, Ashley, Amber, Danica, Kalina, Ian, and Malaina. She also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Irvin R. Rhoads; parents, Pearl E. and Clarence S. Renninger; son, Richard Rhoads; and great-grandson, Jack Leroy Boalton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Obelisk, PA. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00am to 10:30am at the church. Burial at Keelor’s Union Cemetery will follow the service. The church requests that all attendees wear face masks upon entering the building.
