Bertha Emma Evans

Born in Reading, PA. She was a daughter of the late Clara (Schoelkopf) and Robert Mengel.

She was employed during WWII as a seamstress in the Reading Parachute Factory. Bertha also worked at the Berkshire Knitting Mills and was a homemaker and egg farmer.

Bertha loved to paint, gardening and crafts.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Erica E. wife of Cameron Gemmill of Red Lion, PA; great grandchildren, Nevin C. Gemmill and Lydia M. Gemmill both of Red Lion, PA; a sister, Nancy Strunk of Reading and a brother, John Mengel of Mt. Holly, NJ. She is predeceased by her son, Charles M. Evans.

Memorial Services will be held at St. James Lutheran Church 93 Kugler Rd. Limerick, PA. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM.

Relatives and friends may call at church Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Inurnment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.
