Born in New Berlinville, he was the son of Paul and Grace (Sell) Brintzenhoff, and the husband of Barbara F. (Schaffer) Brintzenhoff for 56 years until her death in 2014.
George served in the Korean War from 1954 until 1956 as a member of the Company I 32nd Infantry. He was a Master Plumber by trade and worked with his father in the family business, later taking it over until, and working with Doehler Jarvis and Altemose Company as a pipe fitter. He volunteered at the Boyertown American Legion baseball concession stand. He was a member of the Pike Twp. Sportsmen’s Club; Shippensburg American Legion; and a Life Member at the Gabelsville Athletic Association and the Friendship Hook & Ladder. George loved watching baseball and football games and was an avid hunter.
George is survived by three daughters, Marie C. (Dale) Kauffman, Catherine A (Michael L.) Reinert, and Frances E. (Brian) Bolognese; two sons, George W. Brintzenhoff Jr., and Paul A. (Melissa) Brintzenhoff; nine granddaughters, Lynn M. Broschart, Jessica L. Brintzenhoff, Elizabeth F. Bolognese, Mabry A. Brintzenhoff, Kristin D. Brintzenhoff, Isabella R. Bolognese, Ava C. Reinert, Dawn M. Callahan, and a Renee M. Evans; a grandson, Robert G. Galloway; five great-granddaughters, Breanna L. Callahan, Kaitlyn M. Callahan, Gabriella R. Evans, Lillian M. Broschart, and Lydia G. Broschart; two great-grandsons, Cole B. Galloway, and Tucker J. Evans; two sisters, Claire (Irvin) Williams, and Joan (Richard) Loeb; and a brother, Melvin (Esther) Brintzenhoff. and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Brintzenhoff. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by four sisters, Marion Willman, Charlotte Geiger, Lulu Brannan, and Jeanette Miller; and a brother, Earl Brintzenhoff.
Viewings will be held at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, 111 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, on Monday November 27, 6:00-8:00PM, and Tuesday November 28, 9:30-10:30AM. A service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30AM Tuesday, followed by interment with military honors at Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
