Marjorie P. Griffith, age 95, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. She was born in East Orange, New Jersey on February 15, 1928 to the late Norman F. Prime Sr. and Ella (nee Smith).
Following graduation from East Orange High School, Marjorie attended Nursing School, where she obtained her LPN degree. She was the first African American Woman to work for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of New Jersey.
Marjorie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and hand craft arts. She loved to travel, anywhere she went she enjoyed meeting new friends. Her laugh was contagious!!
She is survived by her loving son, Frank E. Griffith Jr. (Malushua) and her cherished grandchildren, Taria Barron, Chelsea Griffith, Aignee Doyle, Janeli and Niavy Griffith and great grandchildren, Bryce Barron, Bellamy Griffith, Nova Doyle and Eden Tuschemi. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Griffith Sr., daughter, Ruth E Griffith and brothers, Norman F. Prime Jr., and William D. Prime.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Robert Toale & Sons Celebration of Life Center, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211, with Rev. Dr. William F. Sherman, Pastor Sherywn James and Rev. Brewster, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marjorie's memory may be made to The Links Incorporated, Bradenton/Sarasota Chapter.
