Virginia Ruth Facione, 88, of Venice, Florida, passed away on May 2, 2025.

Born on April 10, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Virginia was the daughter of Leroy and Jeanette Potter. She graduated from Cooley High School in 1954 and began her career as a secretary for the Detroit Police Department, she continued her professional life dedicated to public service until she retired from the Michigan State Police Crime Lab after 25 years.

Virginia found joy in many hobbies throughout her life. She had a passion for sewing, cross-stitching, crocheting, and ironing. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening, and working on puzzles—activities that brought her both relaxation and fulfillment.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Facione; her parents; and her sisters, Marilyn Abdilla and Linda Sullivan.

Virginia is lovingly remembered by her nieces: Janet Abdilla; Deborah (Paul) Stookey; Karen (Chris) McClellan; Patricia (Ronald) McLaurin; and Julie Abdilla. Her legacy continues through four great-nieces and five great-nephews who will carry forward cherished memories of time spent together.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband John at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
