We are devastated to announce the passing of our daughter and sister, Alexis Holly-Ann Gibbons on June 11, 2026, in her 29th year. Alexis’ death was tragic and unexpected. It has left our family with shattered hearts.
Without doubt, Alexis was the most loving person this world could ask for. She had keen intelligence and enjoyed a sharp sense of humour with quick wit that allowed her to share smiles and laughter with those around her. Alexis was passionate about music (like her dad), animals and shopping. Her gentle nature touched the lives of all those who knew her and her passing will leave a void that cannot be filled.
Alexis was the cherished daughter of Wayne and Nancy Gibbons; and beloved younger sister to her brother, Trevor, all of whom survive her. She will be forever missed by her grandmother, Marg Angus; her great-aunt, Florence Sime; Aunt Gwen (Bryan); Uncle Mike (Florence); her cousins Andrew (Sheila), Dylan, Taylor (Kam), Michael, and Matthew; as well as her best friend and chosen sister, Brooklyn Hermelyn.
Alexis will always be remembered by her second family, Maurice and Lauraine Johnston; their sons Matthew (Rachel) and Ryan (Lyanne); as well as granddaughter, Lillie, who had a special bond with Alexis. Likewise, she will never be forgotten by her friends and all those whose lives she blessed through her fierce loyalty, selflessness, giggles, and warm caring heart.
Alexis has now been reunited with her Papa, Manson Angus; Grandad and Nana, Tommy and Ella Gibbons; and her much loved dog, Mitch.
Though our hearts are broken, we hold onto the memories of our lives together; her infectious laughter; and the expressions of love and care that Alexis shared so freely with those around her.
Alexis, we will never forget you and we will always love you. We will carry you in our hearts forever. Until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Alexis’ name to The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) https://www.camh.ca/en/get-involved/ways-to-donate or the Brampton Animal Shelter https://www.brampton.ca/EN/residents/Animal-Services/Pages/Donations.aspx would be appreciated.
Alexis, we will never forget you and we will always love you.
