On this date during the past few years when you're still with us, you always wanted your home phone to be within your reach so you'll be the first one to greet me on my birthday. I really missed those phone calls we're having.

Ate, today February 21st you will be 89 years old.  When you were still with us, I always get up from bed early on this day because I want to be the very first one to greet you.  I missed you a lot. I love you.

Ate, I surely missed all your brotherly reminders to me each time we talked over the phone...all the DO's and DONT's that you're always telling me, like:
don't forget to eat well, don't use your ladder anymore to clean your gutters, don't overwork your shoulder because of your surgery, don't do the plowing of the snow on your driveway. alam ko tahimik ka na. wala na yung sakit ng katawan mo.  maligaya ka na. magkasama na kayo ni paking.  salamat sa ating pinagsamahan.  hindi ko makakalimutan ang ating pinagsamahang magpipinsan.. i love you. Matulungin, napakabait, maaalahanin ilan lang sa mga katangian mo na di ko makakalimutan.  Alaala ko pa, nuong nagtatrabaho ako sa Subic Naval Base, lagi akong umuuwi pag biyernes ng gabi.  Paggising ko ng Sabado tatawagin mo na lang ako dahil sa nakahanda mo ng almusal ko....toasted slice bread (locally called "tasty"), bacon, ham & cheese at mainit na kape.Pag nagkukuwentuhan tayo madalas nasasama sa usapan natin nuong ako ay bata pa.  Nasasabi mo na nuong panahon ng hapon di tayo nagugutom dahil sa husay magdala ng pamilya ng tatay.  Isa pa sa nakatulong sa atin nuon ay ang isa sa mahigpit mong manliligaw na hapon si "Sodo", palagi tayong binibigyan ng mga pagkain..napakabait ng sundalong yon.  Pero sabi mo ay mayroon pang mga ibang hapones na opisyal na mababagsik...me mga nakasukbit na sable sa baywang at pilit kang ipinagpapalit ng isang supot na asukal.  Nakakatuwa ang mga kuwento mo nuon na di mo pinagsasawaang ibida sa akin pag naalala natin ang nakaraan.  Pangalawa sa huli kong tawag sa iyo, malinaw na malinaw na sinabi mo "REN, HUWAG MO AKONG KALILIMUTAN, HA!"  Di mo man sinabi sa akin ang mga katagang yon..di kita talagang makakalimutan, mananatili ka sa aking alaala.  I love you very very much, Ate.  Reny

Ate, hindi man ako nakasama ni Reny ay lagi ka naman sa alaala ko at ikaw ay natutulog lang ng mahimbing dahil darating ang araw na magkikita tayong muli ayon sa Banal na Kasulatan Juan 5:28 at 29 "Huwag kayong mamangha rito, sapagkat ang oras ay dumarating na ang lahat ng nasa alaalang libingan ay makaririnig ng kaniyang tinig (ni Jesus) at lalabas, yaong mga gumawa ng mabubuting bagay tungo sa pagkabuhay-muli sa buhay, yaong mga gumawa ng buktot na mga bagay tungo sa pagkabuhay-muli sa paghatol.
