Brian passed away peacefully with his wife by his side after a courageous battle with PSC. Brian was a devoted husband and father who will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife Brenda, and his children Lucas and Larissa (Glen). He leaves behind his loving mother Eleanor Berger and was pre deceased by his father Bertram Berger. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Bruce Berger (Ruth) and his extended family, Thomas and Christina Littlejohn, Paul Littlejohn (Adele) and Stephen Littlejohn (Filomena). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and numerous friends he has made over his lifetime, especially Dave Simmons (Liz).
Brian was raised in Woodstock before moving to Toronto to study film and television. For nearly thirty years, he worked as an animation editor contributing to numerous children’s cartoons and forging lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers.
Brian’s love for film was contagious, watching a movie with him always made those around him see things in a new light. He especially loved Halloween and crafted displays so detailed they could have been lifted straight from a movie set. He was also a loyal supporter of the Leafs, the Raptors and the Blue Jays.
He truly was the rock of the family and the heart of the home — a steady, loving presence that grounded us. No matter the occasion, he brought everyone together and made each family gathering feel extraordinary.
With a keen sense of humor, a genuine willingness to listen, and a heart that always put others first, he faced this battle with courage, strength, and unwavering resolve.
Brian’s laughter, his kindness, and the warmth he shared will remain with all who were fortunate to know him.
Rest peacefully, Brian. Though you’re no longer with us, you’ll forever remain in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
