Dear father to Stephen and Peggy (nee Cook) Shook, Bryan Shook and Anabela Rodrigues dos Santos, Bob Shook and Eddie Shook. Devoted grandfather to Brittnie Lorna Storring and Margaret Casey Shook. He will be missed by his great-grandchildren: Dallas Steele Storring and Blaire Margaret Storring and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Charles was born on July 8, 1938, in Etobicoke, Ontario to the late Dorothy and Robert Shook. Chuck grew up in Mimico. He spent all his summers at Camp Comack, becoming a counsellor there as a teenager. As a youth he was also involved in the Air Cadets. He married his high school sweetheart Lorna Jenkins, who grew up only two streets away. Together they raised four boys, Steve, Bryan, Bob and Eddie.
Chuck’s entire 32-year career was spent with Hydro where he later returned to work as a consultant. His love of cars led him to rebuild three vintage cars and to join the local MG club. He and Lorna enjoyed travelling all through Ontario with the car club. Every fall he travelled north for the moose hunt with old buddies. Here he carried a camera, not a gun, developing his love of photography.
His legacy will live on in our hearts and memories forever and he will be dearly missed by all.
The family invites relatives and friends to share their memories of Charles during Celebration of Life visitation, held at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 11am to 1pm. Private interment at Springcreek Cemetery.
