Sending my deepest condolences to the family.  Charlton was a steady, supportive, kind voice in the office... with a big laugh and an amazing smile.  I learned from him and he always brought a different perspective to the conversation.  He was true and he will be truly missed.

My favourite thing is when you rolled your chair backwards down the row of desks to speak with me, the beeping noise you made  while backing up always made me laugh.

Charlton was a great person and colleague. He was admirable, enthusiastic and always willing to help me. I will cherish the morning walks we would take before work, even in the middle of winter storms. 

He was also an incredibly talented photographer, capturing some of my family’s most treasured moments and events through the lens of his camera.

It was an absolute pleasure knowing Charlton—he will be dearly missed by all of us.

I met Charlton about 3 years ago and got to know him over the last 3 years at the workplace, Everyone at work admired the wealth of knowledge and experience that he had professionally ; what stood out for me and endeared him more was his humility, willingness to help and that he always spoke his mind – even if it was against popular opinion. He was truly a gentle giant.
Being the only 2 boys on the team we had some fun conversations & laughs which I will always cherish.

Outside of work given his passion he was again the expert for anything related to photography, road trips and travel – he was someone I consulted for a wide variety of topics. One topic he did not share my passion on was ‘Cricket’ despite his family and roots being closely connected to the game  - I again admired his unfiltered take on the game as “Rubbish” :)
Another stand out for me was how meticulous and organized he was both his work desk and also his car - I was truly stunned to know that his car wasn’t brand new – any other car could look like that only the day it came out of the showroom !!

Charlton you will be truly missed and cherished. Rest in Peace Playyaa!!!

I have been trying to find the right words to say goodbye but it just doesn’t feel right. Charlton you were so incredible, more than a colleague, you were a true friend.  I will miss our banter so much, I wish you could still tell me how much work I don’t get done and how much you hate my singing. I miss laughing with you and finding new ways to bother you. I will miss hearing your Starbucks order and all the random knowledge you shared about everything in the world.  You were always there to give me the best advice, always there to set me straight and always there to uplift me whenever I needed it. Even though I hated when you dragged me to go on those walks around the office, I promise I’ll walk more often just for you. You were the best Charlton. I will miss you so so much, but our laughs and memories will forever hold a special place in my heart. I hope you rest in peace bestie.

To Charlton Windell Wallace, I will always cherish the time we shared together, first as neighbours exchanging cordial pleasantries, which blossomed into a firm friendship that miles and time could not diminish. Your kindness, quiet strength, wisdom, love, loyalty, care, thoughtfulness, compassion for others… you were the first to call when you heard that my father had died and again, the first to call, when you heard that my mother had died..., your humble nature are truly deeply missed. Thank you, C, for our time and friendship… 

I recall a particularly meaningful conversation we shared:
“Thank you for this very thoughtful gift of time; its symbolism has not gone unnoticed. Time is the most precious gift we have and the one we often waste, thinking we have plenty of it. My deepest condolences to Charlton’s family and friends. I was so saddened to learn of Charlton’s passing. Charlton was always a ray of sunshine and provided words of comfort to me when I was struggling personally. He was so wise and had great wisdom … and why he was the first person I thought of to call at the office when I was worried that I had encountered a red light camera along Dixie road after leaving work. When I called, I still recall his calm voice asking “Is everything ok Kathy?” He then proceeded to explain to me how red light cameras work in Brampton and reassured me that everything would be ok. That was the kind of person Charlton was. I will always miss his laugh. Rest in peace Charlton and please continue to shine your bright light upon all of us.

Shocked by the sad news of Charlton’s passing. My friend was a soft-spoken giant who had an innate way to bring a smile to anyone’s face. No matter the situation, his calming approach to any discussion, made for a much less stressful dialogue. He will be greatly missed. I am deeply saddened to hear about Charlton's passing. He was always such a calm and accepting person, with an easy-going nature that made him a joy to be around. I will always cherish the way he indulged my silly jokes and nicknames for him, like Charlton Chew and Chuck. 

His presence will be greatly missed, and we are truly fortunate to have spent time in his light.  Sending thoughts and condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Charlton was my brother in law and I met him approximately 44 years ago. 

I’m shocked by his passing, and I’m sadden by the loss for his wife, my sister and his son my nephew.

I met Charlton at Rogers Communications through the Black HR Employee Resource Group we formed together. Over the years, it became our little breath of fresh air—especially during COVID and the many changes happening at Rogers at the time. It was our space to unload, check in, and support one another. I always looked forward to connecting with him and the rest of the group each month.

As I got to know Charlton better, I was struck by the warmth he radiated. His laugh was infectious, and his calm, grounded energy made him someone you just wanted to be around. We both worked out of the Brampton campus, and whenever we crossed paths, it was a guaranteed bright spot in my day. 

Charlton had a remarkable perspective on life—one that was both thoughtful and uplifting. I learned a lot from him, not just about work, but about resilience, kindness, and the importance of staying present. He was cool, calm, and collected, no matter the circumstances. His spirit left a lasting impression, and his memory continues to bring a smile to my face.

Charlton had such a comforting, warm, and calming presence that will be irreplaceable. From the day I found out that I had gestational diabetes to the day I left on mat leave in December 2023, Charlton would include me on his daily walks around the office after every meal because he knew it would lower my blood sugar. He was a wealth of knowledge and he tolerated my numerous questions about how and what I should eat, and when, in order to best manage my diabetes. He was my go to for all things food related, and I will be forever grateful to him for that. He never got to meet my daughter, but when she's older, I will tell her all about him and what he did for her/us. While this is one of my favourite memories of Charlton, there are countless more that are examples of why he will be so greatly missed. The office will never be the same, and his memory will live on through the endless stories we’ll share with each other about him.  I am so very sorry to you, his family, for the loss of your beloved Charlton. I will keep you and him in my prayers.
