Gabriele Tassone

Gabriele passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home on October 9, 2025, in Brampton, Ontario. Survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Elena Tassone (nee Mamone). Loving father to Cosimo, Damiano, Elena & Paolo. Cherished Papa of Helina & Cherished Great Papa to Kason and Lehgna. Survived by his sisters Rosina and Viola and his brother Ralph. Predeceased by his brothers, Joe & Luigi and his sisters Antonietta and Pina.

He was born on March 9, 1938, in Calabria, Italy to the late Rosario and Raffaela Tassone.

Gabriele will be fondly remembered as a hardworking man whose greatest joy was tending his flourishing garden and sharing its bounty with family and friends. He was also an avid fisherman and a proud maker of homemade wine, tomato sauce, and sausages. Above all, he cherished gatherings around the family table, where his wife Lina’s cooking and his wine brought laughter, stories, and heartfelt conversation. He leaves a legacy of generosity, warmth, and a love of family, tradition, and bringing people together.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 3pm-8pm at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, Brampton, ON.

Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 10:30am, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Brampton, Ontario. Entombment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
