Gerry was very independent and kind hearted, cherishing time with her family whom she loved so deeply. Geraldine worked as a payroll specialist and retired from St. Michael’s College at The University of Toronto. Geraldine was very social and had many friends. Bringing people together was something Gerry enjoyed throughout her life. In her younger years, Gerry had great pleasure planning family reunions and Christmas galas. In retirement, Geraldine enjoyed her seniors’ card groups and helped run two of them at a local church.
Geraldine was the loving mother of Melanie Botelho (Joe) and Heather MacLeod (Chris Ballan), and the adoring grandmother of Rianna, who held a very special place in her heart. Geraldine was also a dear aunt to her many, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Geraldine is survived by her sisters Joan Stevens, Loretto Spengen, Kathleen Harrison, Cecile Heise and Betty Goodchild. Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Margaret Keough, her brothers Bob, Bill, Frank and Bruce Keough and her sisters Mary Egan, Leola Middleton and Patricia Salvatore. Geraldine will be fondly remembered and truly missed by all who’s lives she has touched.
There will always be heartache,
And often a silent tear,
But always precious memories
Of the days that you were here.
Dear Mother,
we hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
until we meet again.
