Herbert Edward James Foley

He is survived by his loving family; his partner of 38 years Sheila, his children Michael (Sarah)and Darlene (Mario); his grandchildren Hayden, Brodie, Ivee, Grizzlee, Jackson and Julianna; his siblings Joanne (Reuben), Steven (Karen) and his sister-in-law Jan (Dave); his nephews and nieces Jason (Jessica), Lisa (Brian), Steven, Chris (Laura), Kevin (Heather), Chantal (Lance) and Kris; and six great nieces and nephews. Herb was predeceased by his parents Herb Sr. & June and his brother Dann.

Herb was born in Toronto and was the eldest of four. In the 1960’s the Foley family moved to Bramalea. Herb settled in Heartlake in 1989 and spent many happy years enjoying his tranquil backyard. He loved being so close to nature, with the forest and pond just steps away.

Herb was a life-long steelworker, a proud union member, and Union Rep. Over the years, he formed strong bonds with his union brothers and always stood up for workers’ rights.

Herbie will be remembered for his patience, his gentle loving way, his kindness, thoughtfulness, his passion for music, travelling, Buffalo Sabres hockey and spending time with his family and friends.

Herbie was a very special man with a warm soul. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and will forever cherish our memories.

Herbie will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

To honour Herb, a memorial service will be held on Saturday September 5th at 11 o’clock at Andrews Community Funeral Centre in Brampton. We will gather together, remember Herb, and celebrate his life.
