A memory from a long time friend from the neighbourhood, St. Thomas and LCS. I was always welcome at Hugh and Madge's and loved going there with Margaret. I'm sure the girls are like that now in their homes. Peace.

I only knew Hugh through his beautiful daughter Paddi, who has become such a close beautiful friend. To Paddi, Noreen and families, sending our love and best wishes to you all. Thinking of you all. He and his beautiful late wife raised incredible daughters. Much love Deb and Paul xxx

My earliest memories of Uncle Hugh were over 40 years ago when a huge man with a Canadian accent tried to get through the door of Number nine and had to bend nearly in half to do so.I can't remember much about his visit I was in awe of him as was my dad. Dad always spoke of his "big brother" , in Canada and how he had " made good, with all that gold over there "... I finally did get a chance to get to know Uncle Hugh a little, about seventeen years ago when Dad Clare and I visited , and for that I am thankful and I take comfort in the knowledge Dad and Uncle Hugh are together again .
