It is with profound sadness that the family of James (Jim) David Duckworth of Brampton Ontario announces his passing on March 1st, 2023, in his 83rd year after complications arose while hospitalized, with his family by his side.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years Marilyn Jane; his daughters Judith (Terry) and Debra (Ahmed); Grandchildren Jessica (Moussa), Sarah (Mike) and Aaron; and Great Grandchildren Sami and Julian.
Jim is predeceased by his parents John and Rose (nee DeDonna) and sister Mary Near (Bill.)
Originally from Dundas Ontario, Jim was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years and then became an Inspector at Transport Canada until retirement at the age of 65.
Jim's many interests included baseball, basketball, coaching softball, locksmithing, wildlife, stamp and rock collecting, solving puzzles and his grandkids.
Announcement for a gathering of friends and family will be scheduled after a private family service and cremation with date and time to follow.
Donations that reflect Jim's interests, including local animal shelters, would be welcome.
