John Richard Adams

Deeply loved by his daughter, Tracey Adams and partner Jack Klassen of Hillsburgh and son, Shane Adams and partner Kelly Chretien of Alliston. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Amanda Digero, Kayla Coleman and husband Curtis Colemen, Sara Adams, Shaelyne Adams, Shaena Adams, Kaitlyn Oakley and sister June Grant from Kilmarnock, Scotland. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy (nee Booth) and Johnny Adams, sister Mary Watson, brother-in-law Lee Grant and grandson Sean Hartman. Will be fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

John cherished his family and friends. He always encouraged and inspired us all. He was such a proud grandfather and felt beyond blessed to have met his great granddaughter, Aelin Coleman.

John had an incredible work history through determination, hard work and perseverance he worked until he was 75 years young.

Some of Johns happiest moments were spent in Tobermory He will be remembered for his love of storytelling and enjoying “one more drink” while sitting on the deck overlooking the water. These stories touched so many of our lives what we would do to hear just one more story.

John will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.

A special thank you to Freda Dean and family, Melonie Chin, Dr. Olanrewaju, Dr. Byrne, Dr Killorn, Dr. Dokainish, Brinkley Medical Centre and Pharmacy, William Osler ProResp with special mention to Harjot and Navneet, Ontario Health at Home, Spectrum Healthcare and all of Johns personal support workers who allowed us more precious time with our father.

Family invites friends to gather for a Celebration of Life at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton L6T 5N9 on Friday October 2, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family will be sharing stories at the podium of John at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Tobermory Dunks Bay Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating in John’s memory to The Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
