My Father, my friend.  I do not believe love alone is a strong enough word to express my feelings for my Dad.  Add adoration and pride and you may be part way there.  His love for his family was apparent in his actions and stories. He could not have been prouder of us all.

I remember John as a quiet and friendly man. He was someone who was easy to talk to and always had a practical and modest outlook on life.  John had a good sense of humor and often saw the funny side of things. I always met John in the midst of a family gathering which is one of the biggest tributes to his legacy - a wonderful brood of fine people who genuinely enjoyed getting together for what was always a fun time.  John will be missed. I am glad to know he is now in a better place and that fine legacy that he had a part in creating lives on, making the world a better place.  God bless you, John, may you rest in His peace. 
To his family, please accept the Rivers family's sincerest condolences - always remember to live on in Dad's memory - you have all made him proud. May God continue to bless you.
