Surrounded by her family, she peacefully left this world on Monday, October 5, 2026, in Mono, Ontario, with family by her side at the age of 95, leaving a legacy of love and loyalty. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond Dawes.
Shirley's passing is a great loss to her children Shawn Ricci, Lindsay and John Llewelyn and Daraugh Dawes, who will cherish her memory forever. Shirley will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney), Erinn (Ben), Jay (Jennifer), Chase (Andrea)), Kendal (Ryan), Tim (Wanessa), Shaun (Lissa) and Michael (Tera). Her 16 great-grandchildren will miss her dearly. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.
After retiring, Shirley enjoyed playing at Meaford Golf Club and spent 15 years volunteering at the Meaford Hospital.
The family invites relatives and friends to share their memories of Shirley, during visitation, held at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 10am-11:30am. Celebration of Life service will take place in the chapel of Andrews Community Funeral Centre following the visitation at 11:30am., followed by reception.
Private interment at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Toronto.
