Edward Eugene Horner, 79, of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at LifePath Hospice in Sun City Center Florida. He was born on November 24, 1945, in Robbins, North Carolina, and was preceded in death by his parents, Coley and Viola May Marley Horner, and his wife, Virginia Ann Horner.
A proud Vietnam War veteran, Edward served from 1965 to 1967 before relocating to Florida in 1975. In 1990, he built his own home with his own hands, showcasing the craftsmanship he honed as a carpenter by trade. Edward also earned his GED and worked for Florida State University until his retirement.
He is survived by his brothers, Jerry and Paul Horner; nephew, Jonathan Horner; nieces, Anna Horner and Naomi Horner Riddle; great-niece, Felicity Yow; and nephews, James Horner and Jessie Walker Lee Yow. Edward’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his quiet strength and dedication.
A committal service will be held at Hillsborough Memorial Gardens on 7/21/2025 at 1pm, where friends and family are invited to celebrate his life.
