Eric and Megan were the first volleyball people we met when we moved to Tampa and we played coed 4 person indoor. That seems so long ago now. I am so sorry for your loss Megan and all of your family I didn’t get to know having moved back to New Orleans. Before that in 2003 we took photos at the beach together. I took this one of Eric and Megan at sunset. He was such a great guy and an even better friend.

I was never blessed to meet Eric, but if he is anything like his brother Aaron (whom I've known for 20 years in my time as a Marine), then I am sure how I feel about having Aaron as a friend holds close; He was a beautiful, kind and compassionate man with an even better soul. Someone who is always there for you no matter what, and goes out of the way to be the best person he can in any situation. A strong positive influence of light in everyone's life, and the desire to live and love life to its fullest.

What a wonderful family.   Was a neighbor, and Megan was in my Brandon Business group. I would pick her up so she wouldn't miss mtgs. It was a pleasure.   What a sweet girl. All her neighbors celebrated at a Christmas party Dec 2019. What a beautiful time.   Eric explained Megans health to us.   We all wanted to help out.   This has been rough for all of us.   So so sorry.

I remember when Eric and Megan met.   I was so happy for them and the love they shared for each other.  It was tough to see them leave for Florida, but it was their dream and they had to follow it.   I was always glad when they came back to OHIO to visit.   Hearing of Eric's passing was and is a great shock.  I cannot express my feelings for such a terrible loss.    I pray for the strength that Megan and family will need in the coming months. 

Eric, you’ll be missed oh so much! Thank you for being you, a great teammate and friend. 

Eric was a great father, husband and friend. We will miss him dearly.  Keira, if you’re reading this, just remember that we love you so much. 

As I reflect on your life I continuous think of the laughs, friendship, and brotherhood that we had growing up.  As we became friends in high school it grew more and more into a brotherhood with some many friends.  We had great fun and laughed playing cards or pool at your grandfathers house hoping for a snow day.  We got into some mischief pulling off a senior prank.  You even helped me land my first job working with you.  You lent an ear when I struggled with family matters and opened your doors to allow me time to  get away.   We had some amazing golf trips and so many experiences laughing, joking and just enjoying life.  I'll miss you brother. Until we meet again. Love Jay

Eric was our first volleyball friend. We walked onto the courts without teammates, probably in some sort of Michigan gear, and Eric offered to play threes. That was the beginning of a lifetime friendship. The volleyball tribe grew around him as he welcomed in new friends. We traveled together, danced, hugged a lot, laughed, and watched the children grow. Truly we formed a family, and our loss is significant. We will miss your goofy, heartfelt laugh, your bear hugs, and your brotherhood. We will always love you, E. Go Blue.

I met Eric in school, and before he moved to Tampa, we ended up spending a lot of time together. We bowled, golfed, played cards, gambled, while helping each other through divorces, turmoil, and triumphs. Although we obviously didn't spend as much time together after the move, I could always count on him to be the same friend as he always was, quick with a word of comfort or a joke when I needed it. I missed him when he moved, and I miss him now.

As great of a friend as he was, he took more pride in trying to be the best husband and father he could be. He loved his family more than anything else. My heart goes out to Meg and Kiera, but know that you were always on his mind, and he'll always be with you, as he will be with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Much love to you guys, his family, and his extended family of friends. 

As a colleague of Eric's over here at Curry Controls Company, I was continuously humbled by his work ethic-if there was work to be done, he would 'get after it' so he could get home to Meg and Keira as quickly as possible. As a great friend, Eric was always kind with a quick smile and had a real zeal for enjoying life. You will be sorely missed my friend. God speed to you and may God bless your entire family at this time of grief for a tremendous loss. 

This is a tough one. My heart goes out to Megan and Keira. I’ve known Megan and Eric for many years playing volleyball at the beach, back to the old days at the Under Tow!  There are many great memories.  I played on several teams with Eric and it was always a fun, easy time.  It has been such a treat to watch beautiful Keira grow up on the beach.  There really are just no words to express my feelings for this loss.  Eric was a good one taken far too soon.  Let’s go Lightning...Stanley Cup bound!  

Hearing of Eric's passing was absolutely heartbreaking.  I've known him since 7th grade and shared very memorable moments with him in our teenage years.  We were classmates, co-workers at Bonanza and for a moment in time we were more than friends.  He was such a fun, spunky loving, kind, caring soul who could light up any room with his smile and laughter; you couldn't help but to have a great time when you were with him.   I'm thankful for the friendship he and I have a maintained throughout all of these years.   I was so happy to see him living his best life.  Megan and Keira, I know we have never met yet because of Eric's post throughout the years, I've had a glimpse into your lives.  The love he had for the both of you was clearly evident and my heart aches deeply for you.  I'm hopeful you find great strength to guide you on your journey forward while holding his memory in your heart.  I know he will forever be watching over you two!

The Omlor family have been a part of Limona Place, Brandon community for many years. Neighborhood gatherings were a favorite.  We are all shaken by this unexpected loss. Eric's friendly smile and kind soul will be missed. Rest in peace neighbor and friend.

I will always cherish the memories of our friendship. You will be dearly missed. Your village will keep their arms wrapped around Meg and Keira. RIP my friend. 

Whenever we would visit Clearwater, we would get together with Eric, Megan and Keira. It was always a great time. 

I’ve always been extremely blessed to have these wonderful guys by my side all of these years. The group won’t be the same without you, Eric. But, our love for you will never cease. 

Besides being such an amazing friend, Eric was always a part of our poker group that still continues on.  Whenever Eric would come for a visit back to Ohio, you could count on another game for sure!  If I remember correctly, this was our sophomore year of high school.

I was lucky enough to have met Eric when I first moved to Florida back in 2004.  I met him & Megan at Clearwater beach, playing volleyball, a sport we both enjoyed dearly. I will always remember his big smile and his love for life.    Eric, God speed, my friend, you didn’t deserve to leave this Earth so soon

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bette J Omlor (Schwartz) and sister, Lisa Marie Omlor. He is survived by Megan Genell Omlor, his loving wife of 19 years. He is survived by the apple of his eye, daughter Keira Logan Omlor, brother Aaron M Omlor and husband Bob Henley-Omlor and son, Eric B Henley-Omlor, father Raymond A Omlor, step-mother Emily Omlor and step-brother Brian Wierzba and close family friend Ruie Spurlock.
