Ethelene McGahee

Ethelene was born on July 2, 1931 to parents John T Berry and Sarah J Berry(Hagan) in Winterhaven, Fl. She met her husband James G McGahee in 1954 and they married December 19, 1955. They then went on to have 5 children; Jimmy, Nancy, Effie (Joseph), Fay(Terry) and Brenda.

Ethelene had 9 grandchildren; Charlene and Brandy,Shannon, Tara and Steven, Robert, Jennifer, Larry and Leasa. In addition she had 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to being a faithful wife, she was a devoted christian and member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonton for many years. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling with her sister-in-law Mildred and her friends, especially to Kentucky. Banana Pudding was always on the menu at all get-togethers, along with Joseph's baked beans. Once she became bedbound her favorite pastimes were crosswords, her soap operas and playing video games, she played this game Spyro up until she was 91!

She is predeceased by both of her parents John and Sarah Berry, all of her siblings; Amarilla, J.C. and Herbert. Her husband James McGahee and her son Jimmy McGahee.

A visitation for Ethelene will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
