Jeffrey Alan Herndon age 56, formerly of Tampa, FL, passed away in Panama City, FL on Monday afternoon November 2, 2015. Jeff was born April 2, 1959 to John and Iris Herndon. He attended King High School in Tampa and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was an accomplished engineer and was very proud when he earned his professional engineering license. He worked on many successful projects while working for the City of Tampa Water Department and the Hillsborough County Public Works Department. His best quality though was his big heart and his compassion for people. His quick wit and charm endeared him to many people. He was preceded in death by his father John Herndon and his mother Iris Herndon. Family he leaves behind is Brother Charlie Herndon; Sister Jane Favata; Niece Samantha Scholly (Nick) and Great Nephew Mason Scholly. There will be a celebration of his life 2 pm Monday Nov. 9, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon with visitation one hour prior to service.
