Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene; his father, Havard Burk; and his precious daughter, Autumn McFadden.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Missy (Jim) Millspaugh, Jamie (Laurie) McFadden, Karen Kirby, Amanda (Josh) Jones, Joshua (Jordon) Burk, Danielle Burk, Ellie Burk, Allison Burk, Megan Burk, and Regan Burk; his treasured grandchildren, who brought him endless joy; his mother, Florence Goodwin; and his siblings: Rodney (Cindy) Burk, Linda (Jackie) Hinson, Donnie Burk, Kenny (Linda) Burk, and Diane Barron.
Jerry was a graduate of Tampa Technical High School, where he honed his skills as a mechanic. He worked in the field until his retirement in 2002. While he took pride in his career, his true passion was serving as a firefighter. Jerry dedicated 10 years to the Thonotosassa Volunteer Fire Department, many of those years serving as Chief.
Jerry loved Plant City and was deeply involved in the community. He especially enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their sports and activities, often volunteering at concession stands and serving on the board of the Plant City Dolphins. He loved being outdoors—whether golfing, fishing, boating, or spending time at the beach—especially when those moments were shared with family.
A giver at heart, Jerry was always quick to prepare a meal for a family in need. He loved God and served Him faithfully as a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Plant City, where he was active in his Sunday School class.
Jerry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his children, family, friends, and community.
