Jerry Lawrence Morath, a proud U.S. Army veteran, devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by family. His long and courageous journey was marked by resilience, humor, and quiet strength.
Born on December 29, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jerry served honorably in the United States Army for four years, achieving the rank of E4. Though he was promoted to sergeant, the paperwork was never finalized before his return home—a small oversight that never diminished the pride he carried for his service and his country.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lucille Morath and son Jerry David Morath, he is survived by his devoted daughter, Tammie Renee Morath; his grandsons, William Royce and Robert Royce; and his granddaughter, Tiffanie Royce. His family was his greatest joy, and he poured his heart into loving and supporting them every day of his life.
Those who knew Jerry will remember his gentle spirit, steadfast devotion to his loved ones, and his love for fishing. Whether on the lake or by the riverbank, he always had a fishing pole in hand and a story to share. Fishing wasn't just a pastime for Jerry—it was a part of who he was.
His passing marks the end of his journey here, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered in every memory, every lesson, and every act of kindness inspired by his life.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at:
