He is survived by his companion Lillian Torres, son Randy, sister Alma and nephews Bradley, Matt, Michael, Devon and niece Deborah.
Jim completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland and graduate school at Troy State University.
He was the founder and President of Rolling Thunder, Florida Chapter 11 a POW/MIA advocacy group as well as being committed to various veterans’ charities. He was a Lifetime member of American Veterans AMVETS Post 44 of Plant City, American Legion Post 148 of Riverview and Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post 8108 of Riverview.
He was an avid motorcycle rider for many years. He participated in many veterans’ motorcycle charity events and rode several cross-country trips. He loved riding in the Great Smoky Mountains, his home state of West Virginia and out west.
